Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. We see appointments Monday-Friday from 9am to either 6pm or 7pm. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us; it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Surgical

We offer a wide range of surgical services to help your pets stay healthy. From routine neuters to complicated tumor removals, Dr. Wheat is ready and able to help. Currently, Dr. Wheat is preforming surgeries on Tuesday and Friday. Dr. Cilenti is doing surgeries on Thursday. Generally, pets stay the day with us and go home between 2pm-5pm in the afternoon.

  • This surgical packet is to assist owners in making surgery day as easy and stress-free as possible. As always feel free to call us with any questions.

 Dental

The dental machine used includes a high-speed drill and LED lighting to accurately diagnose, treat and repair all of your pets' dental needs. We have recently added a dental x-ray machine as well to better view and diagnose problem areas in your pets' mouth. During all routine and non-routine dental procedures, the doctors will scale, polish and fluoride treat your pets' teeth to keep them healthy for years to come.

Diagnostic Services

Bayport Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer Digital Radiology and an In-Clinic Laboratory to better help care for sick pets. Bayport Veterinary Hospital also works with an outside lab to preform tests that offer quick turn around times that allow the doctors to get to the bottom  of your pets' health problems. From routine pre-operative blood work to critical care cases, we are equipped to handle it.

UltraVet

UltraVet is a traveling service that preforms abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms. When you pet requires one of these services, they are dropped off in the morning and hang out with us until the Ultrasound technician is able to come to the office. One the technician is done, pets are able to go right home.

Preventatives

Bayport Veterinary Hospital keeps several preventatives on hand to keep your pet pest free. To better protect your pet, we do recommend staying on pest preventatives year-round; Long Island no longer gets or stays as cold as it once did and pests, such as fleas and ticks, are being seen throughout the entire year. Don't forget to ask about the instant and mail-in rebates that some of these products have.
